Tailor required
We are looking for experienced tailors to join our team at Jokoto Tailoring. Full and part time roles available. Salary TBC depending on experience, living wage + guaranteed.
We have two locations, a shop based in Old market, and a workshop in Portland square, so the candidate would need to be happy working in either location. In the Old market shop the day is spent mainly doing alterations, mending and repairing of garments, as well as bespoke garment making and bridal fittings. And in the Portland square space we do pattern cutting, sample making and small scale production runs.
A strong knowledge of sewing is a must, and experience using an industrial overlocker and lockstitch machine essential. Alterations, pattern cutting and sample making experience would also be beneficial. As the old market studio is a customer facing space the candidates will need to have experience in this and good face to face communication.
The role requires someone who is organised with their time, as we are working up against deadlines. The candidate will also need to be able to work and communicate efficiently with a busy team in a workshop space. Fittings are a part of the job so an understanding of physical form and style will also be needed.
The successful candidate will enjoy working within a small, and creative environment and have the opportunity to practice a wide variety of sewing and garment making techniques.
Please note the pay per hour will vary depending on experience.
