About the role

Based in our office in Biggin Hill in your role as Software Design Engineer you will be an integral part of the R&D team. Working collaboratively to design and develop solutions for embedded software. There is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop. Responsibilities

· Working in the R&D team to design and develop software solutions for embedded control systems.

· Specify, design, and develop cross-platform back-end software/apps to work with industrial control systems.

· Detailed hands-on embedded software, app and web application development.

· Full life cycle responsibility from initial concept, through detailed design and development, to software release and maintenance.

Skills and Competencies

  • Experienced in C programming for embedded control systems and C# for Windows application development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applications development for IOS/Android.
  • Experience of CodeWarrior, MpLab X, Crossworks or a similar IDE.
  • SQL Database development.
  • Cloud Service Integration.
  • Experience of network protocols, Bluetooth/WLAN comms, low-level comms (I2C, SPI, SDIO) and/or device driver development an advantage.
  • Open to a gaining a wider understanding of combustion processes to aid in the development of control software and supporting apps.
  • The ideal candidate is expected to be passionate about software development.
  • Suitable degree qualification.
  • A structured mind and a keen eye for detail are considered an essential aspect for this position.
  • Candidate should have strong communication skills with ability to communicate across all levels including production, design and senior level.
  • Be proactive, with the ability to meet deadlines and drive solutions.
  • Enthusiastic, with a can-do attitude and a drive to get solutions implemented.
  • Working with the existing team of software and hardware engineers, with a high level of autonomy and responsibility for the development of software.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From £60,000.00 per year
