Position Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part time (22.5 hours per week) Marketing Assistant based at our Highland Park Distillery in Orkney. Reporting to the Visitor Experience Manager and with a matrix reporting line to the Global Brand Manager Communications and PR, the Marketing Assistant is a key role in the delivery of our global marketing strategy within the Orkney market.
Job Description
The key areas of responsibilities will be:
  • On all projects, liaise with the global brand team to ensure brand quality is maintained and, brand standards and guidelines are strictly adhered to
  • Work with global and local Orkney teams to document and manage existing potential sponsors and identify new sponsorship opportunities
  • Work with VEM to identify and collaborate with local arts/craft/food producers on potential point of sale material for Albert Street store and Visitor Centre
  • Ensure marketing literature, posters, etc are updated regularly and distributed to all local key attractions and tourism centres
  • Support VEM to attend local and other events and represent the Highland Park brand to consumers and trade customers
  • Ensure distillery/shop/vehicle signage is up to date and in excellent order
  • Work with the Global and local Orkney team to build a strategy around local (Orkney) market engagement
  • Respond to enquiries from local (Orkney) customers whilst adhering to brand standards
  • Ensure merchandising of product and displays at Albert Street store and Visitor Centre are maintained to highest standards and refreshed regularly to attract and sustain consumer interest
  • Liaise with local press on occasional advertising / publicity opportunities
Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will have experience of engaging with consumers via social media and have knowledge of online marketing tools. You will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as website Content Management Systems (CMS). A flexible and proactive style of working with the ability to coordinate multiple projects from conception to delivery is required.
