Position Summary
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Finance Assistant – Accounts Payable to join the team based at Great Western Road, on a fixed term basis (12-months). Reporting to our Finance Analyst, this role will collaborate with both internal and external customers when required. The successful candidate will take ownership of the processing and payment of invoices, ensuring these payments are made on time to vendors.
Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
  • Processing and distributing purchase invoices for various departments within an agreed timetable.
  • Processing invoices to general ledger accounts and cost centres.
  • Creating supplier statement reconciliation on Microsoft Excel.
  • Processing purchase invoices to purchase orders and good receipts where appropriate.
  • Preparing large upload files from Microsoft Excel to SAP for multiple line invoices.
  • Checking invoices for nature of spend and calculations and if applicable, for business VAT.
  • Liaising with suppliers to chase any outstanding issues from supplier statements and payments.
  • Liaising with internal departments regarding issues from supplier statements & payments.
  • Accounting for all relevant taxes (mainly VAT) per our procedures and seeking advice when unsure.
  • Any ad hoc duties relevant to skill set.
Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should have previous accounts payable knowledge, with excellent organisational skills to cope with a high volume of data processing. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and SAP would be advantageous.
