It’s an exciting time to join WRc, a member of RSK Group, as a Consultant in Water Microbiology as we plan to increase our capacity to meet future needs in this business area. The position is a full-time, permanent basis with a hybrid arrangement for both office (Swindon, UK) and home working depending on requirements.
As a Consultant in our water microbiology business area you will be supporting the delivery of project outputs across our three core microbiology workstreams; current & emerging hazards; target identification; and decision-making, which span across our consulting and commercial service offerings.

Key Responsibilities

Provide technical support for water microbiology consultancy projects (desk-based)

Support Principal Consultant in the delivery of high-quality project outputs

Future potential to support new laboratory capability development

Support the development of decision-making tools to support our clients

Data processing, analysis, and interpretative report writing

Communicating with internal and external stakeholder
Person Specification
-
BSc or MSc in Environmental Sciences, Microbiology, Environmental Engineering or similar, ideally with modules covering environmental and public health microbiology, sampling, analysis, water treatment and water distribution

Experience with planning monitoring programmes in the field and in laboratory settings

Demonstrates an understanding of microbiological data and how to interpret the outputs
-
Experience in technical report writing and literature reviews

Ability to identify new opportunities in microbiology

Ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders’
