Job Description

Wyman-Gordon is a world leading manufacturer of Nickel, Titanium and Steel alloy forgings for the aerospace and energy sectors. Part of the major American corporation, PCC, we are a global manufacturer of complex metal components and products. Our plant in Livingston is a self-contained design and manufacturing operation.

Main duties and responsibilities of the position are:

  • Assisting with all setup operations and forklift tasks within area.
  • Operate cranes within area ensuring safety checks are carried out prior to use:
  • Carrying out duties with the use of the appropriate tool, i.e. grinders or any other tool required to do the job.
  • Prevent any non-conforming product passing to next production department
  • To assist with the identification, development and implementation of operational improvements.
  • To ensure continuity of production of quality parts ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • To ensure that quality, cost and delivery are continually improved.
  • To ensure that all work meets customer (internal and external) expectations on delivery and quality.
  • To be flexible and adaptable and move between work areas if required.
  • To ensure that high standards of health, safety and housekeeping are met.
  • To undertake additional training within work area in line with the company needs.
  • To undertake any other role within skill capability as specified by the Team Leader to comply with legislative requirements.
  • To undertake daily forklift truck and crane checks.

Candidates should ideally have the following skills:

  • Current forklift licence.
  • Previous experience/current licence in crane operation.
  • Initiative and flexibility.
  • Knowledge and application of safe working practices.
  • Knowledge and experience in quality systems and procedures.
  • Experience of working in an engineering environment.
  • Previous experience working within a Team.
  • Knowledge and experience of reading engineering drawings.

Appropriate training will be given if required.

HOURS OF WORK are 37 hours per week. Hours of work on a two-shift rotation

Monday - Thursday

Early Shift 6.00am to 2.00pm

Back Shift 2.00pm to 10.00pm

20 minutes unpaid meal break (to be taken at a time to suit the Company)

Friday

Early Shift 6.00am to 12.20pm

Back Shift 12.20pm to 6.40pm

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £28,944.63-£29,491.82 per year
